Bangkok:The government has confirmed that the Khlong Ra-ok reservoir has not broken, clarifying that the erosion found was limited to the side of the emergency spillway. This erosion has been repaired by the Royal Irrigation Department, ensuring that the reservoir's structural integrity remains intact.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekkapop Pienpises, the Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, addressed rumors circulating on social media claiming that the reservoir had broken. He emphasized that these rumors are false and reassured the public about the reservoir's stability.
An investigation revealed that the erosion occurred on the right side of the spillway, but it did not compromise the reservoir's overall stability. The Royal Irrigation Department has completed the necessary repairs and continues to monitor the reservoir's condition closely.
The government urges the public to avoid panic and to rely on information from official sources to prevent confusion due to inaccurate reports.
