Traditional Garlands Boost Tourism Along Sakae Krang River

Uthai Thani:The tourism atmosphere along the Sakae Krang River has been revitalized with "garlands and flower garlands" enhancing the vibrancy of the region. Women in traditional Thai costumes, adorned with these garlands and lotus flowers, are capturing memories in photos at Wat Uposatharam, adding to the town’s charm.

According to Thai News Agency, the resurgence of tourism is linked to the "Malai Lat Klao" fashion show. This event has gained popularity among locals and tourists who enjoy wearing traditional Thai attire and taking photographs at historical sites like Wat Uposatharam, an ancient temple from the early Rattanakosin period. Despite some flooding in the area, the temple's beauty remains intact, continuing to draw visitors.

The participation of individuals like Ms. Nattada Boonaj, or "Teacher Namtan," highlights the trend. She visited a stall in the Uthai Thani Municipal Market to have her hair adorned with garlands before heading to Sakae Krang Square for a photo session with Wat Uposatharam as a backdrop.

This cultural revival has led to a steady stream of customers for flower garland vendors. A set of floral garlands, including lotus flowers, is priced at 200 baht, and the market sees a significant influx of tourists, particularly on weekends, from other provinces.
