Bangkok Launches Free Repair Services Initiative to Reduce Living Costs for Citizens

Bangkok:The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has announced the launch of the "Still Repairable" project, aimed at alleviating living costs for residents by offering free repair services at ten designated locations across the city until October 30, 2026.

According to Thai News Agency, the initiative is being spearheaded by the BMA's Social Development Department, which is providing these services to help citizens manage their household expenses. The project offers free labor for repairing a variety of household items, including electrical appliances, electronic devices, computers, mobile phones, clothing, bags, shoes, wooden furniture, and vehicles such as cars and motorcycles.

The repair services will be conducted by students from Bangkok Metropolitan Vocational Training Schools, who will work under the supervision of expert instructors. This setup not only helps reduce household expenses but also offers the students valuable practical experience.

Residents interested in availing of the service can bring their items to any of the ten Bangkok Metropolitan Vocational Training Schools from October 18 to October 30, 2026. While labor costs are waived, customers are required to cover the cost of any necessary spare parts and materials. The initiative stipulates a limit of one item per person, per day, per category to ensure fair access for all citizens.
