Army to Enforce Law Against Actress’s Husband for Illegal Land Use

Nakhon Nayok:The army spokesperson confirmed that enforcement of the law will proceed against Mr. Athip Anantawan, the husband of actress Boom Panadda, for the illegal use of state land.

According to Thai News Agency, Major General Winthai Suwaree, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Army, addressed the progress of the lawsuit against Mr. Athip. The husband of actress Dr. Panadda Wongphudee is accused of illegally using land under the Army's jurisdiction in Sri Ka-ang Subdistrict, Ban Na District, Nakhon Nayok Province, to construct a resort and trail running course. The investigation revealed that the land use was relatively recent compared to other cases in the area.

Major General Winthai explained that it is necessary to verify the type of land and the responsible agency, as state land is managed by different bodies, including the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Finance. The documents used to show the right to use the land do not prove ownership, which remains with the state.

The Army is responsible for overseeing and safeguarding state property, and legal action will be taken if unauthorized access is discovered. The spokesperson highlighted the need for systematic surveys to understand and manage the problem of illegal land use across areas under the Army's jurisdiction.

In some instances, agencies may issue warnings or engage in discussions before taking legal action, depending on the case's specifics. The Royal Thai Army prioritizes cooperation with local leaders to gather factual information on land use, which aids in clarifying investigations and determining appropriate actions.
