Teenagers From Phatthalung Apprehended in Songkhla for Armed Intimidation and Theft

Songkhla:Seven teenagers from Phatthalung have been apprehended in Songkhla after allegedly intimidating local residents, committing theft, and stealing a firearm in Hat Yai.

According to Thai News Agency, a Border Patrol Police unit from Division 437 arrested the teenagers, who displayed a lack of remorse during their capture, smiling and making cheerful gestures. The operation, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Suthep Chukaew, involved surrounding a rented house in Moo 1, Soi Moo Baan Fah Sai, Khuan Lang Subdistrict, which the group had been using. Reports indicate that the teenagers were known for their aggressive behavior and had prior incidents with local gangs.

During the search of the rented house, authorities found a long-barreled shotgun, a homemade firearm, and ammunition. Additional ammunition was found in a car parked outside. The teenagers, aged between 15 and 17, confessed to owning the weapons and admitted to obtaining them through intimidation in Rattaphum district.

Following their arrest, the juveniles were charged with joint possession of firearms and ammunition without a permit. Despite the serious nature of the charges, the teenagers reportedly treated the situation lightheartedly, laughing and gesturing playfully at the police station.
