CHANHABURI: Thai national gymnast Sasivimon Muangpuan from Samut Sakhon continued to exhibit her exceptional skills by securing her fourth gold medal at the 49th National Games, known as the Chanthaburi Games. According to Thai News Agency, Sasivimon, a member of the Thai national team, claimed two additional gold medals in Artistic Gymnastics at Burapha University Gymnasium. She achieved the highest score of 11.863 points in the Women's Individual Vault and 11.8 points in the Women's Individual Uneven Bar. Previously, she had already secured gold in the All-around and Women's Team events. In the Vault, Lily Prateep from Bangkok took the silver with 11.55 points, while Kanyanat Boonthing, also from Bangkok, earned the bronze with 10.775 points. In the Uneven Bar, Punnichat Ammin from Samut Sakhon secured the silver with 9.8 points, and Kanyanat Boonthing claimed another bronze with 9.225 points. In badminton, the defending champions Kanchanaburi faced Chiang Mai in the women's team final at the Chanthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization Stadium. Lalinrat Chaiwan, representing Kanchanaburi, quickly defeated Chiang Mai's Athitiya Powanon in two straight games, 21-7, 21-7, securing a 1-0 lead. However, Chiang Mai rallied to win the next three pairs, ultimately taking the gold with a 3-1 victory. Following the match, Lalinrat expressed gratitude to her team and vowed to focus on preparing for the upcoming SEA Games, which Thailand will host next year. In swimming, the Bangkok team, known as the Young Sharks, clinched the gold in the men's 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay with a record-breaking time of 3 minutes 29.31 seconds, surpassing Suphan Buri's previous national sports record. Chiang Mai and Suphan Buri took the silver and bronze medals, respectively. As the games progress, Bangkok leads the medal tally with 26 golds, followed by Chonburi with 14, Chanthaburi with 13, Samut Sakhon with 10, and Suphan Buri with 8 gold medals.
