Phanom Sarakham: A school van skidded off the median and overturned on Highway 304, Phanom Sarakham, heading to Muang Paet Riew, injuring 13 people. It is believed the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at around 7:00 AM. At the scene, good citizens were helping the students on the median strip on Road 304 Phanom Sarakham. The children were in shock and had wounds all over their bodies, both male and female. Blood stained their uniforms, so they rushed to give first aid. At the scene, they found a school van, a bronze Toyota Commuter brand, Chachoengsao license plate, which had crashed into a tree and overturned.
Witnesses and students who were passengers said that before the incident, the van had picked up students from Ko Khanun Subdistrict and then picked them up at Phanom Sarakham Market, heading to Paet Riew to drop off students at each school in Paet Riew. However, the driver appeared to have fallen asleep at the wheel, before the van skidded off the median and hit a tree. In this incident, 13 students and the driver were injured, two of whom were seriously injured. Officers are preparing to investigate and await the driver's condition in order to investigate and proceed with legal procedures.
