Bangkok: NESDB expects the first phase of the Land Bridge project to open in 2030. Monporn', Deputy Minister of Transport and the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board (ONEP), expressed confidence that the Land Bridge project will have a bidding for the construction of the first phase, valued at 500 billion baht, in the latter part of 2026, with construction starting in 2027 and the first phase opening in 2030.
According to Thai News Agency, during public hearings conducted for the private sector in Chumphon and Ranong provinces, there were concerns raised about the large water sources necessary to support the project. These discussions are crucial as they address the environmental and logistical challenges that accompany such a significant infrastructure development.
