Bangkok: The Metropolitan Police Commissioner has directed Bang Na police to urgently investigate an incident in which a rock was thrown from a skywalk, damaging a car on Bang Na-Trat Road.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident was first reported on May 2, 2025, by R.T.O. Paiboon Mala, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Bang Na Police Station. The event occurred on April 29, 2025, at 5:36 p.m., when a victim’s vehicle was struck by a rock while traveling on the express lane of Bang Na-Trat Road in the Bang Na Subdistrict and District of Bangkok. Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, has ordered Pol. Col. Surapong Sukyam, Superintendent of Bang Na Police Station, and his team to investigate the matter urgently.
The victim, who was driving a black VOLVO with a red license plate, reported that a piece of cement hit the left windshield on the passenger side, causing damage. Following the incident, the victim contacted his insurance company to arrange for repairs and subsequently filed a complaint with the police through an insurance representative.
Upon receiving the report, investigators coordinated with the investigation division to review CCTV footage from the area. The footage revealed that a masked male suspect, carrying a bag of cement blocks, walked up the skywalk on the Bangna Housing side near the entrance to Soi Bangna-Trad 46. The suspect was seen throwing a cement block from the skywalk, which then struck the victim’s car before fleeing the scene.
The Bang Na Police Investigation Division is currently analyzing the CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the perpetrator involved in the incident.
