Bangkok: The Senate has entered a silent session as Senator Alongkot Worakit announced his intention to provide a clarification on May 19. Despite being summoned by the Election Commission alongside 54 other senators to address charges of electoral collusion, Alongkot has refrained from discussing his plan for the upcoming clarification.
According to Thai News Agency, Senator Alongkot was approached by reporters with questions about his strategy for responding to the Election Commission's summons, which is scheduled for May 19-21. However, he chose not to divulge any details, merely confirming his attendance. During his interaction with the media, Alongkot attempted to leave the area but was momentarily hindered by a malfunctioning door, requiring assistance from an officer.
When further questioned about his level of concern regarding the summons and whether he had communicated with Senator President Mongkol Surassajja or the other senators involved, Alongkot remained silent. As reporters inquired about any possible agreement among the senators to keep quiet, he responded with a non-verbal gesture, hinting at the situation before excusing himself to the bathroom.
Emerging shortly thereafter, Senator Alongkot briefly covered his mouth with his hands, signaling his commitment to silence. He then entered the meeting room to retrieve an item and promptly exited, maintaining his discretion on the matter.
