Thai Women’s Volleyball Team Faces Tough Loss Against Turkey in VNL

Beijing: The Thai women's volleyball team suffered their third consecutive defeat in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) after losing to Turkey in straight sets, 0-3. "Coach Oat" Kiattipong Rachata-kriangkrai emphasized Turkey's formidable strength, describing them as a challenging team to score against. The Thai team is set to face France in their next match on June 8 at 2:00 p.m.

According to Thai News Agency, the match took place during the 2025 Women's Volleyball Nations League, Week 1, Group 3, Match 3 at the National Stadium in Beijing, China. The Thai team, ranked 15th in the world, faced off against the 4th ranked Turkish team. Prior to this, Thailand had already faced defeats against Poland and Belgium in their initial matches.

Head coach "Coach Oat" Kiattipong Rachata-kriangkrai deployed a roster featuring players Pornpan Kerdprach, Pimpichaya Kokram, Thatdao Nuekjang, Wimonrat Thanaphan, Donphon Sinpho, and Thanatcha Suksod, with Piyanuch Pannoy serving as libero. Despite their efforts, the Thai team could not overcome Turkey's dominance, losing the sets with scores of 23-25, 14-15, and 22-25, marking their third consecutive loss.

Post-match, Coach Oat acknowledged the difficulty of the game, stating that although the team followed their game plan, Turkey's superior skills in serving, spiking, and blocking proved decisive. He highlighted the world-class capabilities of the Turkish team, making it particularly hard to secure points against them.

Looking ahead, the Thai women's volleyball team will compete against France, who hold the 20th spot in the world rankings, in their upcoming match scheduled for June 8 at 2:00 p.m.
