Cambodia Bans Fuel, Gas Imports From Thailand Amid Rising Border Tensions


Phnom Penh: Cambodia has announced a ban on the importation of all fuel and gas from Thailand starting Sunday midnight, following escalating border tensions between the two ASEAN member states. Prime Minister Hun Manet revealed this decision through his official social media platforms, emphasizing the immediate effect of the halt on imports.



According to Nam News Network, Prime Minister Hun Manet assured that fuel supply companies within Cambodia have the capability to source sufficient fuel and gas from alternative suppliers to satisfy domestic demands. The move comes as a strategic response to ensure energy security amid the ongoing diplomatic strains with Thailand.
