Trat: Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party and prime ministerial candidate, has reclaimed Trat province as a focal point in promoting the Eastern region as a new economic engine. During his recent visit, he emphasized the potential of the region in upgrading agriculture and high-tech industries.

According to Thai News Agency, Abhisit, accompanied by key party leaders such as Satit Wongnongteuy, Satit Pitutecha, and Thira Salakphet, engaged with the local populace at the Saentung Municipal Fresh Market in Khao Saming District, Trat Province. The delegation was warmly received with marigold garlands and cheers from the crowd, reflecting strong local support for the Democrat Party. The atmosphere was vibrant, with many attendees capturing the moment by taking photos with Abhisit.

In a brief rally from a campaign vehicle, Abhisit expressed gratitude for the enduring support from the people of Trat and stressed the significance of the upcoming election. He assured the crowd of the Democrat Party's commitment to driving tangible change in the country.

During a press interview, Abhisit outlined his vision for the Eastern region, which includes provinces such as Trat, Chanthaburi, Rayong, and Chonburi. He described the region as a microcosm of Thailand's challenges and expressed his intentions to enhance the agricultural sector by focusing on high-value processed foods and fruits. Abhisit also emphasized the importance of transitioning towards high-tech industries and improving tourism revenue quality.
