Abhisit Vejjajiva Urges High Voter Turnout as He Casts Vote in Watthana District

Bangkok: Abhisit Vejjajiva exercised his right to vote in the election and referendum at Sawasdee Witthaya School in Watthana district, urging citizens to participate actively in shaping the country's future. The atmosphere was lively from early morning, as voters gathered to make their voices heard.

According to Thai News Agency, Abhisit Vejjajiva arrived at Sawasdee Wittaya School, Constituency 4, Khlong Tan Nuea Subdistrict, and checked his name on the voter registration list before casting his vote. The school hosted a total of four polling stations, with Abhisit casting his vote at polling station number 1. After voting, Abhisit encouraged people to determine the country's future by exercising their right to vote. He expressed satisfaction with the early turnout, viewing it as a positive sign.

In a light-hearted moment, when asked by reporters if he had slept well the previous night, Abhisit humorously replied, "The football team lost," before laughing.

Meanwhile, Suranand Vejjajiva also cast his vote in Constituency 4, emphasizing the day's importance due to both the election and the referendum. He urged citizens to vote early to ensure a strong turnout and expressed hope for participation levels to reach nearly 80%, surpassing the previous election's turnout of around 75%.

The scene at Sawasdee Wittaya School was vibrant as people arrived even before the polls opened. Election Commission officials assisted voters in checking registration lists, while police officers from Metropolitan Police Division 5 maintained order. As polls opened at 8:00 AM, voters eagerly queued at all four stations. Many expressed anticipation and excitement, noting that the election results would reflect the collective will of the people.
