AeroThai Launches Real-Time Flight Data System at Chiang Mai and Phuket Airports

Chiang mai: Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AeroThai) has launched a new Intelligent Departure Enhancement Program (iDEP) at Chiang Mai and Phuket airports, aiming to enhance aviation safety and build public confidence in air travel. Mr. Surachai Nuphrom, Deputy Managing Director and Acting Managing Director of AeroThai, announced the official implementation of the system, which processes real-time flight management data for both incoming and outgoing flights, covering all stages from origin to destination.

According to Thai News Agency, the iDEP system, which has been operational since February 19, 2026, is part of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) process. This integration allows all agencies involved to access the same data set, facilitating faster and more accurate decision-making. The system connects to the A-CDM Portal of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) and collaborates with various stakeholders, including the Royal Thai Air Force, the Meteorological Department, airlines, and ground handling operators. This collaboration aims to optimize runway and taxiway usage, parking management, ground services management, and flight punctuality.

Mr. Surachai emphasized that the implementation of the iDEP system aligns with AeroThai's core mission to manage air traffic safely and efficiently. The system is expected to provide tangible benefits to the public, including more accurate flight schedules, reduced delays and congestion, and increased confidence in air travel. By enabling efficient resource sharing through real-time data, the collaboration in implementing the A-CDM system marks a significant step in elevating air traffic management standards in regional airports. AeroThai is committed to fostering systematic collaboration across the aviation sector, ensuring a seamless and safe travel experience that supports tourism and bolsters the country's economy.
