Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, has clarified recent comments made by Chaiyanok Chidchob regarding potential political alliances. Anutin emphasized that Chaiyanok's remarks about forming an alliance with the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) and the Kla Tham group represent his personal opinion.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin stated that Chaiyanok has the right to express his viewpoint after declaring his intention to collaborate with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Kla Tham Party. However, Chaiyanok dismissed any cooperation with the Pheu Thai Party due to its alleged involvement in scams. Anutin further mentioned that he had not heard any official statement from Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, chairman of the Progressive Movement, regarding PDP's readiness to be in opposition if the Bhumjaithai Party, referred to as the blue-colored party, secures the majority.
Anutin addressed comments made by Thanathorn, who suggested that if the Bhumjaithai Party wins the most votes, the Phuket Party, referred to as the orange party, will take the opposition role. Anutin noted that he had not personally heard this statement and refrained from commenting further to avoid potential conflicts. Regarding Chaiyachanok's focus on cooperation with parties excluding the Pheu Thai Party, due to its past associations with scammers, Anutin reiterated that Chaiyachanok is entitled to his perspective.
When queried about whether Chaiyanok's statement was a personal stance, Anutin responded that such matters require discussion at the party's executive committee meeting. For now, party members are encouraged to freely express their personal opinions.
