Anutin Charnvirakul’s Arrival at Parliament Sparks Media Frenzy

Bangkok: Prime Minister candidate and Bhumjaithai Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul arrived at Parliament House at 9:10 a.m. to attend a House of Representatives meeting, amidst a large crowd of media waiting to cover the news. Anutin did not stop to give an interview and attempted to take the elevator, but the media surrounded him and requested an interview, causing a commotion in the entrance hall on the first floor of Parliament House.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin responded to some media questions regarding today's House of Representatives meeting to elect the Prime Minister, saying that it was in accordance with the House of Representatives' agenda. When asked if today was a historic day, Mr. Anutin said it was normal to be excited and asked to go in early to attend the meeting.

When asked if he had anything he wanted to say to the people, Mr. Anutin said, "Thank you to all the people. Please have confidence and support us so that everything can proceed smoothly." Anutin expressed excitement for the historic day and urged the public to be confident. He assured the public that everything will proceed smoothly while the media closely follows the situation.

Anutin then asked for a way to the elevator to enter the meeting room, telling them to move aside. However, the press continued to crowd around, taking photos and firing off a series of questions, including whether the party was in the running today, and whether Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party, still insisted on supporting all 143 votes. Was he now confident he would become prime minister? Anutin did not answer, but instead admonished reporters, saying enough was enough, before breaking through the press cordon and taking the elevator to the meeting room.
