Anutin Jokes About Helicopter Mishap During Water Inspection

Phichit: An unusual incident unfolded during a water inspection mission when Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, tripped and fell while disembarking from a helicopter. The incident, which occurred in Phichit Province, evoked a mix of concern and amusement from the public.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin addressed the media regarding the mishap, humorously questioning whether people were worried or if he deserved it. The swift intervention by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, who caught him just in time, prevented any serious injury. Anutin recounted a previous fall at Wat Phra Kaew, explaining that he had sustained a more severe injury then, breaking a finger while running after former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

In response to a reporter's inquiry about whether he was overworking himself, Anutin dismissed the suggestion, asserting that his fall was not due to weak legs but possibly something on the helicopter's fork that caused him to trip. He assured reporters that he was unharmed, contrasting this incident with his previous fall, which resulted in a broken finger.
