Bangkok:The Commissioner of the Crime Suppression Division has announced that arrest warrants are expected to be issued for two individuals by Friday in connection with a case involving funds from the "Doing Good" foundation. The Commissioner emphasized that Boom Panadda, a key figure in this investigation, will not receive any special treatment and will be subjected to the same legal standards as any other citizen.
According to Thai News Agency, Police Lieutenant General Nattasak Chaowanasai, Commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, stated that the investigation into the "Doing Good" Foundation's donation case is progressing. The police are committed to proceeding based on the evidence. Should conclusive evidence of wrongdoing be uncovered, legal actions will ensue without exception. Police are currently verifying the receipt of a letter from Boom Panadda, in which she expressed her willingness to cooperate with the investigation. However, she cannot request any special privileges during the legal process.
Reports suggest that Boom Panadda has expressed a desire to remain outside the organization to earn money for repaying the foundation's debts, citing reasons such as her young children. The Commander noted that any decision regarding her situation must consider both the circumstances and available evidence. If Boom Panadda meets with investigators, questioning will proceed. Decisions on bail opposition will depend on her compliance with legal requirements. The investigation has advanced with officers questioning several related parties, including land department officials, although the foundation's treasurer has not yet been summoned.
Clarity on the issuance of arrest warrants for those involved is anticipated by Friday, initially concerning two individuals. Prosecutors and police have discussed prosecution strategies, emphasizing the importance of evidence and forensic outcomes. In a separate case under the Crime Suppression Division's jurisdiction, actress Boom Panadda has filed a complaint against her husband, Athip Anantawan, and Apichat Sae-Loo concerning alleged fund misappropriations for constructing a pool villa in Phuket. Evidence is being collected to determine the validity of these fraud claims.
These cases remain distinct from those under investigation by the Central Investigation Bureau and the Economic Crime Suppression Division regarding donations to the Good Deeds Foundation.
