Aston Villa Set to Face BG Pathum United in Thailand for Pre-Season Friendly

Bangkok: Aston Villa are bringing their Premier League stars to Thailand for a world-class pre-season friendly against BG Pathum United on August 4th at BG Stadium. Organizers have announced a significant collaboration to host the "ASTON VILLA ASIA TOUR THAILAND," a world-class pre-season football tournament. Aston Villa, the reigning UEFA Europa League champions, will travel to Thailand to play against BG Pathum United, a leading Thai League team, on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, at True BG Stadium in Pathum Thani province.

According to Thai News Agency, this match is considered one of the highlights of Thai football this year, as a top club from the English Premier League clashes with a top Thai League team on Thai soil. Football fans across the country are eagerly awaiting to witness a world-class clash at BG Pathum United's home stadium.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery will lead a squad of Premier League star players, including Alejandro Garnacho and Victor Lindelof, on this tour, creating excitement for Thai fans who will get to see Premier League players in action up close. Vladimir Vujovic, head coach of BG Pathum United, revealed that the team is fully prepared to show that Thai football is second to none.

The team intended to field as many players as possible to prepare for the new season, and admitted to paying particular attention to Emery's coaching style, as a coach who has won the Europa League multiple times, and viewed this game as a good opportunity to learn from each other.
