Singapore: "Pro Jin" Atthaya Thitikul is gearing up to chase her first major championship title following her recent victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand 2026. The 23-year-old world number one golfer has expressed her readiness and confidence as she prepares for the HSBC Women's World Championship, set to take place at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore from February 26th to March 1st. According to Thai News Agency, Atthaya's triumph in Thailand has bolstered her confidence, especially as she looks forward to competing in a tournament with a substantial prize pool of US$3 million (approximately 93 million baht). Atthaya shared her thoughts ahead of the competition, noting that the victory on home soil was particularly meaningful. She emphasized that the win demonstrated the importance of continuous improvement rather than striving for perfection in every shot. Her focus remains on giving her best effort in Singapore, with the support of her family and Thai golf fans fueling her drive for a major championship. Lyd ia Ko, the former world number one and defending champion from New Zealand, also expressed her determination to compete at her highest level in every tournament. The HSBC Women's World Championship will feature nine of the top ten golfers globally, with Nelly Korda, the world number two from the United States, being the only top-ten player absent from the event. Among the participants are Thai golfers Ariya Jutanugarn (ranked 25th), Pajaree Anunarukan (ranked 49th), and Chanettee Wannasen (ranked 56th). The winner of the tournament will be awarded 500 Race to CME Points, world ranking points, and a prize of US$450,000, or approximately 14 million baht.
