SME Bank went to the area to deliver relief bags to disaster victims in Sukhothai Province. The team was mobilized to urgently survey the impact and provide assistance to SME Bank customers and debtors.
From the flood situation and flash floods causing heavy flooding in the northern region since last week, according to information from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), it is reported that currently (as of 28 August 2024) there is still a flood situation in 4 northern provinces: Chiang Rai, Phayao, Sukhothai and Nakhon Sawan, affecting houses, agricultural crops and businesses that have been damaged.
Due to the impacts, TCG is ready to provide urgent assistance to those affected. Most recently (as of August 28, 2024), Mr. Sitthikorn Direksunthon, Director and General Manager of the Small Industry Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG), along with senior executives, jointly delivered 300 relief bags. neur Development, TCG, along with the team from the Lower Northern Region Office, went to deliver the relief bags to flood victims in Sukhothai Province. Mr. Pradit Phalathap, Mayor of Wang Thong Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Sukhothai Province, was the representative to receive the bags.
In addition, the Upper Northern Region Office and the Lower Northern Region Office have been assigned to urgently survey customers and debtors of the SME Bank who have been affected, and to publicize and promote the SME Bank’s relief measures by suspending payment of fees for 6 months for customers and suspending payment of debt installments for 3 installments for debtors who have been affected, in order to alleviate the suffering of those affected through the crisis.
Mr. Sitthikorn said that apart from the northern region, the SBAC is currently monitoring the flood situation in other provinces that are likely to be disaster areas, especially in the lowlands of 7 provinces: Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Suphanb
uri, Singburi, Angthong and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. SBAC district offices nationwide have been assigned to urgently survey and inspect the area and prepare to go to the area to provide additional assistance.
