Bangkok Authorities Seize Ecstasy and Cocaine in International Drug Bust

Bangkok:The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) in Bangkok has successfully intercepted a package containing ecstasy and cocaine that was being shipped from Europe.

According to Thai News Agency, ISOC collaborated with Customs and the Office of Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) to seize the package, which contained dolls filled with drugs. The package included over 400 grams of ecstasy and cocaine, along with 191 ecstasy and alprazolam pills.

The sting operation took place at the Bangkok Express Mail Service Center in the Laksi District. Customs and mail service personnel had initially flagged the package as suspicious, prompting ISOC Region 1 to integrate its efforts with other agencies. Lieutenant General Phet-ek Intharat, Deputy Director of ISOC Bangkok, assigned the Intelligence Gathering and Verification Unit 101 to assist in the operation alongside officers from various security and intelligence units.

During inspections, four suspicious postal packages were found. Two packages from Germany contained 97 ecstasy pills and 94 alprazolam pills, both including broken fragments. The other two packages, originating from the United Kingdom, contained cocaine in powdered form, weighing approximately 212 grams and 242 grams, respectively, including the packaging.

All drugs and evidence were seized and handed over to Thung Song Hong Police Station for legal proceedings and further investigation. This operation highlights the effective collaboration between security agencies in combating drug trafficking through international parcel services.
