According to Thai News Agency, authorities are coordinating with Nakhon Nayok province to closely monitor burning activities. Bangkok Governor Chatchart Sittipunt addressed the PM2.5 situation in both Bangkok and Nakhon Nayok province, indicating that the overall situation has improved.
The governor noted that 47 areas were recorded with yellow air quality levels, while 24 areas had orange levels. Encouragingly, many areas are starting to return to green levels. Major burning in Nakhon Nayok province has been controlled and extinguished, with only a few small-scale burnings remaining under close observation. Favorable weather conditions and the Work From Home measures adopted in Bangkok have played a role in the overall improvement of air quality.
In terms of controlling black smoke emissions from vehicles, Bangkok is collaborating with the Department of Land Transport to inspect buses for black smoke emissions. Buses found to be emitting excessive black smoke will face immediate prohibition from operation or be given a warning to address the issue within 30 days.
