Bangkok: The Bangkok Governor and Bangkok executives have launched a convoy of emergency machinery, personnel, and trucks to assist in the rehabilitation of flood-affected areas in Songkhla Province.
According to Thai News Agency, the convoy, which departed from Bangkok City Hall, is headed to the South, aiming to offer relief and rehabilitation support to the flood-stricken areas. The convoy's journey to Songkhla Province is expected to take approximately 15 hours. Prior to this, two large trailer trucks had already delivered over 150,000 donated items. The donation period will remain open until 12:00 noon on December 2, 2025.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, addressing the officials, emphasized the importance of dignity and unity in their mission. He highlighted the mutual support among Thai provinces during times of crisis, stressing that the strength of the Thai people lies in their kindness and collective support for one another.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has dispatched various vehicles and machinery, including two sludge suction trucks, two high-pressure water spray trucks, a long-distance water pump truck, a toilet truck, a mobile repair truck, a disaster relief vehicle from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, a patrol vehicle, and a truck equipped with a 45-ton crane.
Meanwhile, Associate Professor Dr. Thawida Kamolwet, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, shared on Facebook a scenario planning exercise conducted by the Governor. This exercise included a simulation of 1,100 mm of rain over seven days in Bangkok, mapping hazard exposure vulnerability, and assessing capacity. The exercise also involved reviewing the warning system, evacuation plans, and inventory of equipment and machinery. The aim is to improve communication and coordination plans and prepare for potential future challenges in Bangkok.
