Benz Racing Reports to Cyber Police Over Misuse of Image in Gambling Promotion

Bangkok: "Benz Racing," formally known as Mr. Akkarakit Worarojcharoendet, visited the Technology Crime Investigation Division 1 at the Chaeng Sattana Government Complex to file a complaint against the unauthorized use of his image in online gambling promotions. He met with Pol. Maj. Gen. Sirawat Deepo, the Commander of the division, to assert his innocence and disassociate himself from the misleading content.

According to Thai News Agency, Benz Racing reported that his images and videos had been manipulated by users of a specific application to falsely suggest his involvement in online gambling. The investigation uncovered approximately 20 users responsible for creating 50 misleading clips, which falsely indicated his arrest and alleged acquisition of assets through gambling activities. Benz Racing emphasized that these actions have tarnished his reputation and led to public misconceptions. He discovered that a particular clip had been uploaded two days earlier and was regularly posted and then deleted by various users. Benz Racing's visit to the authorities was an effort to publicly declare his detachment from any online gambling activities.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Sirawat Deepo explained that the case revolves around the unauthorized editing of a well-known individual's image to lure the public into gambling. The authorities have taken the case under consideration and assigned it to the Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division 1. The investigation will assess Benz Racing's involvement, if any, with the gambling websites in question. Furthermore, the police will examine the operations of these gambling platforms. If found to be facilitating illegal gambling, they will face prosecution under the Gambling Act, Section 12, which carries a penalty of up to one year in imprisonment and/or a fine not exceeding 2,000 baht.
