According to Thai News Agency, at the 2026 Taiwan Athletics Open held at Banqiao Stadium, Taiwan, 20-year-old Thai national sprinter "Bew" Puripol Boonsorn competed in the men's 200-meter final. This was his second event after previously winning a gold medal in the 4x100-meter relay.
The results showed that Bew Puripol, in lane 6, sprinted to the finish line first with a time of 20.03 seconds, successfully winning the gold medal. He also broke his own Thai national record of 20.07 seconds, set at the 2025 SEA Games. India took the silver medal with a time of 20.47 seconds, and Taiwan won the bronze with a time of 20.35 seconds.
