Bhumjaithai Party Gains Momentum as Conservatives Rally Against Orange Party

Bangkok: Sukhum, a prominent political figure, has revealed that supporters of "Uncle Tu" (Prayut Chan-o-cha) are aligning with the Bhumjaithai Party as part of a strategic effort to challenge the "Orange Party" (Pheu Thai Party). This move is seen as a significant shift in the political landscape, with the Bhumjaithai Party introducing technocrats to attract urban voters.

According to Thai News Agency, Associate Professor Sukhum Nuansakul, former Rector of Ramkhamhaeng University, commented on the current election trends, suggesting that the Bhumjaithai Party could potentially secure over 100 seats in the House of Representatives. Although not predicting a first-place finish, Sukhum assessed that Anutin Charnvirakul is a strong contender for Prime Minister, supported by a robust network of political allies.

Sukhum highlighted that a key support base moving towards the Bhumjaithai Party includes the group previously backing General Prayut Chan-o-cha, known as "Uncle Tu's FC." These supporters are now siding with Bhumjaithai as the conservative choice to unite against the "Orange Party" in the upcoming elections.

He further explained that the conservative faction is consolidating votes for Bhumjaithai to counter the Pheu Thai Party. This strategic shift involves not only the general public but also influential groups that previously supported Pheu Thai and felt let down. Now, they are turning to Bhumjaithai, aiming for a victorious and dignified government formation.

Sukhum emphasized the importance for Bhumjaithai to maintain its momentum and popularity, cautioning against any risks that could tarnish its image, as the conservative faction has clearly chosen its political alignment.

When questioned about the impact of introducing technocrats such as Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, and Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas into the party's executive team, Sukhum noted this was a positive factor. These technocrats are expected to resonate with urban voters who favor specialized expertise in governance.

The inclusion of these experts has created high expectations among the public, with Sukhum believing Bhumjaithai has adopted the right approach by allowing these individuals to demonstrate their potential. This strategy is anticipated to boost the party's popularity and support.
