Big C Collaborates with Thai Chamber of Commerce and Department of Business Development to Launch ‘Big C BizConnect’

Bangkok: Big C, in partnership with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Business Development, has launched the 'BIG C BIZCONNECT: Grow Fast with Big C, 1st Edition' event. This initiative aims to support small entrepreneurs across all product categories, providing them with the opportunity to enhance product quality and expand their distribution channels through Big C's extensive network nationwide. The event is expected to facilitate stable growth for these businesses and help them enter the modern trade market and international platforms in the future.

According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Aromon Sapphawitham, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, highlighted post-event that the department's goal is to promote sustainable growth for SME entrepreneurs and community businesses. The collaboration with Big C and the Thai Chamber of Commerce is designed to open commercial areas, support knowledge dissemination, develop business networks, and encourage trade associations to take a more active role. Entrepreneurs from various departmental projects participated in business matching activities with Big C's nationwide network of over 1,800 branches. The government aims to increase the share of SMEs to 40% of GDP by 2027, up from 35.2% in 2023.

Dr. Poj Aramwattananon, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, emphasized the significance of the event as a platform for pushing Thai SMEs towards stable and modern market channels amidst global economic volatility and changing supply chains. He noted that enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs is crucial for the Thai economy, especially given the direct impact of geopolitical factors and tax policies from major powers like the United States and China on Thai exports and trade.

The Thai Chamber of Commerce has been actively supporting SMEs through various projects such as the Business Accelerator, Big Brother, and Big Match initiatives, along with an Export Clinic to help entrepreneurs explore foreign markets. Additionally, they are preparing to host the '5 Regional Chambers of Commerce SME Expo', which will allow local entrepreneurs to showcase their potential, expand their markets, and build business partner networks.

Mr. Aswin Techajareonwikul, CEO and Managing Director of Big C Supercenter Public Company Limited, stated that the 'BIG C BIZCONNECT: Grow Fast with Big C, 1st Edition' event was organized to provide Thai SME entrepreneurs with access to distribution channels in Big C's nationwide network. The event aims to enhance product quality, packaging, and marketing strategies, while Big C offers business consultation, market expansion opportunities, and various privileges to drive sustainable growth for Thai SMEs in the modern trade market and internationally.

The 'Big C BizConnect' event creates an important platform for SME and Start-Up entrepreneurs to engage directly with buyers in the Modern Trade system, thereby strengthening small entrepreneurs and expanding their access to wider distribution channels.
