Bomb Explosion and Shooting Incidents in Narathiwat Leave Multiple Injured

Narathiwat: Officers in Narathiwat Province are diligently collecting evidence after a bomb exploded near a police flat and a separate shooting incident left several people injured.

According to Thai News Agency, the bomb was placed next to the fence of a police flat at Khok Khian Police Station, causing a loud explosion that injured several police officers and children. The incident occurred last night, prompting police and soldiers from Khok Khian Police Station to request ambulances for the injured. Witnesses reported that a criminal on a motorcycle with a sidecar parked next to the wall behind the police flats. As the perpetrator attempted to chase away a group of children studying the Quran, he eventually fled, and the bomb exploded, injuring five individuals, including three children, one female villager, and one police officer.

In a separate incident around the same time, a shooting occurred at a house in Waeng District, injuring six people, one of whom was a police officer. Initial investigations indicate that the victims had returned from gathering food in the forest when unknown assailants opened fire on them while they were eating, using an unidentified type and caliber of gun.

This morning, officials conducted thorough inspections at both crime scenes to gather additional evidence and investigate any possible connections between the two incidents.
