Phu khieo: A fierce bull gored a Phu Khieo forest ranger, resulting in serious injuries.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred when a Nong Nok Ok patrol unit was on duty in the Huai Fang Daeng curve forest area. The patrol, tasked with preventing and suppressing wrongdoing, encountered a gaur, which gored Mr. Chokchai Suphaphet, one of the rangers.
After receiving a distress call via radio, the Phu Khiao District Office promptly dispatched an emergency rescue team to the remote forest location. The team managed to transport Mr. Chokchai to a designated waiting area for medical evaluation. Initial assessments indicated that he suffered a laceration on his cheek, bleeding from behind his ear to his neck, and reported pain in his neck, jaw, and right knee. Subsequently, he was swiftly taken to Khon San Hospital for further treatment.
The medical team at the hospital reported that Mr. Chokchai's condition has stabilized, though he remains under close observation. He is conscious and capable of communication.
Mr. Atthaphon Charoenchansa, Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, expressed his concern over the incident. He has instructed the Phu Khiao District Chief and relevant agencies to provide continued support and monitor Mr. Chokchai's medical care. Additionally, he extended his support to all officials committed to safeguarding the forest.
