Bangkok: The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has summoned AirAsia to explain the incident involving passengers stranded due to delays in the passenger transfer process between the terminal and the aircraft.
According to Thai News Agency, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has acknowledged the incident involving AirAsia flight FD3116, Don Mueang - Hat Yai Airport route, which operated on January 17, 2026. The incident involved passengers being stranded due to the transfer process between the passenger terminal and the aircraft, resulting in a flight delay.
Following the incident, the CAAT (Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand) summoned AirAsia to clarify the facts regarding the cause of the incident, particularly concerning coordination and communication among relevant ground staff, as well as the procedures for verifying passenger information before flight, in order to assess compliance with established safety and passenger service standards.
