Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is actively engaging in discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, calling for an immediate ceasefire and restoration of security in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Thai News Agency, the meeting took place in Beijing where Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, reiterated China's stance on an immediate ceasefire and opposition to the re-escalation of conflict. He highlighted the international community's concern over securing safe and normal shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz and urged relevant parties to meet global demands promptly.
Araghchi shared insights into the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, detailing Iran's future plans. He assured that Iran is committed to defending its sovereignty, seeking a peaceful resolution through negotiations, and stressed the importance of resolving the issue of the Strait of Hormuz swiftly and appropriately.
Furthermore, Araghchi expressed Iran's appreciation for China's four proposals aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and commended China's constructive role in preventing further escalation.
