Chinese Ambassador Donates to Thai Red Cross for Flood Relief


Bangkok: The Chinese ambassador donated money to the Thai Red Cross Society. Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, Zhang Jianwei, visited the headquarters of the Thai Red Cross Society on Tuesday to deliver a donation from the Chinese Red Cross Society for flood relief in southern Thailand. The donation was received by Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary-General of the Thai Red Cross Society.



According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Zhang expressed concern over the recent flooding in southern Thailand. The Chinese leadership has extended condolences to Thailand, emphasizing the strong relationship between the two nations as good relatives, friends, and partners who support each other in times of difficulty.



Mr. Zhang highlighted the efforts of the Chinese community in Thailand and Chinese organizations in providing assistance to the affected areas. He expressed hope that the donation from the Chinese Red Cross would uplift the victims’ morale and aid in the swift restoration of normalcy in the affected regions.



Mr. Tej conveyed gratitude for the Chinese Red Cross’s aid, noting the enduring solidarity between Thailand and China in facing risks and challenges. He emphasized the strong bond between the two countries, stating, “China and Thailand are not strangers, but brothers.”



Mr. Tej also mentioned that the Thai Red Cross Society aims to continue fostering communication and cooperation with the Chinese Red Cross Society to enhance the quality of life and well-being of people in both countries.
