Pattaya: Mingchen Shan has been discharged from the hospital and returned to Pattaya Special Prison.
According to Thai News Agency, authorities escorted Mr. Mingchen Shan, a 31-year-old Chinese national, back to the Pattaya Special Prison after he was admitted to Pattaya Patumkun Hospital on May 11th. He had suffered seizures due to an overdose of prescribed medication during the prisoner screening process. His condition has improved, and doctors have now released him from hospital care, allowing his return to prison where he remains under close supervision.
Previously, on May 13th, the Department of Corrections provided an update on Mr. Shan's medical condition. Doctors at Pattaya Patumkun Hospital had performed various tests, including blood tests, chest X-rays, and a CT scan of the brain, to check for abnormalities. It was initially assumed that Mr. Shan had overdosed on his prescribed medication. A nasal tube was inserted to flush his digestive system, revealing a blue fluid, and an antidote was administered, which improved his movement and responsiveness. He received treatment for eight days before being discharged to the custody of the prison.
