Bangkok: Chulalongkorn University makes history by providing first-year students the opportunity to start working while still studying, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for the future job market.
According to Thai News Agency, the university has launched the 'Chula Freshmen Job Fair' on August 26-27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the glass elevator lobby on the 1st floor of Chamchuri Square. The event allowed students to familiarize themselves with the world of work from the very beginning of their studies. This initiative includes exploring career paths, gaining hands-on experience, and building networks with businesses across various sectors such as industry, fashion, media, and creative businesses in the digital age. Over 40 leading companies and organizations participated, offering insights into fields like fashion and media. The MCOT booth, in particular, provided attendees with the chance to learn news reading techniques and professional television production work.
Professor Dr. Vilelert Poorivachara, President of Chulalongkorn University, emphasized that this project marks a new chapter, offering first-year students the opportunity to work while studying. Traditionally, students have struggled to secure jobs post-graduation due to a lack of work experience. This project aims to bridge that gap by enhancing skills acquired during studies and preparing students for the job market.
The initiative is not merely an internship but a chance for students to engage in real-world work situations, gain experience, and develop essential skills. As the world evolves, students will have the opportunity to accumulate experience and learn continuously throughout their four years of study, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to become high-quality professionals.
