Bangkok: CIB conducted surprise raids at four locations, arresting an entire gang that brutally raped a 17-year-old girl in her rented room. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), under the leadership of Pol. Lt. Gen. Natthasak Chaowanasai, Commander of the CIB, and the Special Operations Division (SOD), executed a covert operation targeting the suspects. The operation was directed by Pol. Maj. Gen. Theerachart Theerachatthamrong, Commander of the SOD, and other high-ranking officers. They arrested Mr. Ratthathamnoon, Mr. Katawut, Mr. Nattawut, and Mr. Kittiphan, who were charged with rape by force, gang rape, and abduction of a minor for indecent purposes.
According to Thai News Agency, the arrests took place in Soi Srinakarin 26, On Nut Subdistrict, Suan Luang District, Bangkok. The case originated from an incident in late 2025 when Ms. A, a 17-year-old, and her friend Ms. B were staying in a rented room. Ms. A was invited by Mr. Kittiphan to bring a friend to the room. Upon arrival, three other men, Mr. Katawut, Mr. Ratthathamnoon, and Mr. Nattawut, joined them. Ms. A testified that after consensual intercourse with Mr. Kittiphan, the other men assaulted her without her consent. Following the incident, Ms. A's caretaker and the victims' fathers filed a complaint with the Phra Khanong Police Station.
Further investigation led police to the suspects' hideouts in the On Nut area. The suspects were apprehended at various locations in Suan Luang District and were taken to Phra Khanong Police Station for processing. They admitted their identities as those named in the arrest warrants but claimed they had not been previously arrested for the case. The suspects were informed of their charges and legal rights before being transferred to the investigating officer.
During questioning, the suspects provided a different account of events, stating that they were invited to the room by a woman affiliated with Mr. Kittiphan. They claimed that Mr. Kittiphan and Mr. Nattawut engaged in sexual activities with the victims, while Mr. Katawut denied any involvement, asserting he left early. All four suspects initially pleaded not guilty to the charges.
