Cool Morning Weather Persists Across Thailand

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has reported that the northern, northeastern, and central regions of Thailand will continue to experience cool to cold weather conditions, accompanied by morning fog. The mountain tops in these regions are expected to remain very cold, with some areas even witnessing frost.

According to Thai News Agency, the eastern and upper southern regions, including Bangkok and its surrounding areas, will also experience cool morning temperatures. The cold air mass affecting these areas is attributed to a high-pressure system covering the upper part of Thailand and the South China Sea. Residents are advised to take necessary health precautions and be vigilant against the potential dangers of dry air-induced fires. Additionally, caution is advised when traveling through fog-prone areas.

The northeast monsoon affecting the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea has weakened, resulting in reduced rainfall in the lower southern region. Wave conditions in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are moderate, with wave heights reaching up to 2 meters in certain areas. Sailors are urged to proceed with caution, especially in areas experiencing thunderstorms, where waves may exceed 2 meters.

The weather conditions during this period are affecting dust accumulation, as air circulation remains poor and weak. The weakening winds over the upper part of Thailand, coupled with surface inversions, are contributing to increased air pollution levels. Consequently, the concentration of dust particles is expected to rise.
