Bangkok: The Pathumwan District Court sentenced Ms. Naphat, known as "Tokyo Girl," and her boyfriend, Mr. Chaiyo or "Kong," to six months in prison without suspension, a sentence reduced to three months due to their confessions. The court ruled their actions brought disrepute to the country.
According to Thai News Agency, the Public Prosecutor's Office, Pathumwan District Court Division 6, charged the duo for unlawfully accessing and disclosing computer systems with specific access prevention measures. The incident traces back to the 33rd Southeast Asian Games hosted by Thailand on December 15, 2025, at Chulalongkorn University. Both defendants admitted guilt and were initially released on bail.
Before the hearing, Tokyo Girl expressed her worries about appearing in court, stating the events had been stressful. She mentioned she had no plans to change her name or seek future employment, intending instead to work with her family. She also remarked that the incident might be forgotten by society over time.
The court's decision considered the severe damage caused to the credibility of athlete selection and the tarnishing of the country's reputation, resulting in the detention sentence for both defendants.
