Nakhon sawan: Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Jetseth Thaiseth, visited the Hua Muang Phatthana community in Nakhon Sawan to oversee the assistance being provided to victims of a recent fire. He has directed provincial and local administrative bodies to ensure swift and effective support for those affected.
According to Thai News Agency, a fire erupted on April 23, 2026, at 5:30 PM in the Hua Muang Phatthana community, damaging 33 houses and affecting 115 people, with two reported injuries. Local organizations, volunteers, and agencies quickly contained the blaze and began initial relief efforts. Mr. Jetseth, during his visit, inspected the ongoing assistance operations, encouraged the victims at the Pak Nam Pho Prachanu??????? Foundation's temporary shelter, and distributed relief supplies. He emphasized the need for a rapid damage assessment and timely aid in line with existing regulations and guidelines.
Mr. Jetseth highlighted the frequent fire incidents caused by hot and dry weather, electrical overloads, and negligence. He urged the public to ensure electrical safety, particularly at night or when homes are unoccupied. He also instructed local authorities to be prepared with emergency response equipment and reassured that affected individuals would receive prompt care and assistance.
Mr. Teerapat Khachamat, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), reported that temporary shelters have been set up at the Pak Nam Pho Prachanu??????? Foundation and Bueng Boraphet tourist accommodation. The DDPM, through its Region 8 Center in Kamphaeng Phet, has provided a water purification unit to these shelters. Additionally, the Nakhon Sawan Provincial DDPM Office and local agencies have coordinated efforts to establish donation and damage reporting points, supplying victims with essential items like drinking water, bedding, and clothing. Mr. Teerapat stressed the importance of coordinated efforts to expedite relief and assistance as instructed by the Deputy Minister of Interior.
