Bangkok: Somkid, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, has filed a complaint with the Cyber Police against Hun Sen concerning a leaked audio clip. He firmly denied any intentions of flirting with Paethongtarn.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Somkid Chuekong approached the Technology Crime Investigation Police Headquarters, commonly known as the Cyber Police, to lodge a formal complaint against Samdech Hun Sen. The complaint pertains to a 17.6-second audio clip of a conversation with the Prime Minister that was leaked, allegedly causing division. Mr. Somkid emphasized that he did not inform the Prime Minister before filing the complaint and reiterated that he had no flirtatious intentions.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpaen, the Cyber Police Commissioner, stated that any actions undermining security, regardless of whether they occur inside or outside the Kingdom and whether perpetrated by a Thai national or a foreigner, can be prosecuted under Thai law. The police plan to gather evidence, trace the origin of the leaked post, consult with the Attorney General, and coordinate with the foreign embassy to dispatch necessary documents to the relevant country for any potential arrest warrants. However, Lt. Gen. Trairong refrained from speculating on the likelihood of apprehending the individual involved.
