Don Mueang Airport Prepares for New Year Surge with Over 100,000 Daily Passengers Expected

Bangkok: During the New Year festival in 2026, Don Mueang Airport is anticipated to handle over 100,000 passengers each day. The Director of Don Mueang Airport has taken measures to ensure the readiness of the facilities and safety protocols to accommodate travelers during the festive period. This initiative aims to instill confidence among the public and includes the distribution of gifts to passengers to enhance their travel experience.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Vijit Kaewthaitiam, Director of Don Mueang Airport under the Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, conducted a thorough inspection of the airport's facilities and safety arrangements for the New Year's Eve 2026 celebrations. His objective was to reassure the public and encourage airport staff to perform optimally during the bustling holiday period. He was supported by executives from Don Mueang Airport during the inspection.

During this occasion, Mr. Wichit Kaewthaitiam and airport executives presented special gifts to passengers to foster a joyful atmosphere and make a positive impression on travelers at the domestic terminal, Building 2, of Don Mueang Airport.

Mr. Wichit stated that Don Mueang Airport is fully equipped to manage the influx of passengers during the New Year festival, with expectations of servicing more than 100,000 users daily. The busiest times for flights are projected to be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM for both domestic and international travel. Additionally, the early hours between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM will see heightened activity for domestic flights as airlines initiate their first flights of the day.

Passengers are advised to allocate an additional 2-3 hours for travel and verify flight details prior to departure to avoid any potential delays or errors.

Don Mueang Airport has coordinated with various agencies to enhance service and safety standards, embracing the concept of "World Class Hospitality." The airport is employing modern innovations and technologies to ensure a convenient and seamless travel experience.
