According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Ae posted on Facebook lamenting the loss of life and suggesting that some deaths could have been prevented. He highlighted the need for societal change in addressing public safety concerns, emphasizing that such tragic events are often quickly forgotten. His message underscored the importance of taking public safety seriously to prevent future incidents.
Dr. Ae has been instrumental in advocating for the formation of an "Independent Public Safety Organization" and has been involved in drafting the Public Safety Act. This legislation aims to prevent recurring accidents, such as bridge collapses, crane falls, and chemical spills, by establishing accountability and learning from past incidents to protect the public.
