Dr. Jetsada Urges Election Commission to Investigate “Spectre C” of People’s Democratic Party

Bangkok: Dr. Jetsada Tonawanik, the Rak Chart Party's prime ministerial candidate, has called on the Election Commission to expedite its investigation into "Spectre C," a group allegedly connected to the People's Democratic Party. If evidence emerges that the political party is controlling an Information Operations (IO) business, it could potentially lead to the dissolution of the party.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Jetsada highlighted the Spectre C case, describing it as an example of covert operations within a political party in the digital age. These operations reportedly involve information activities conducted within the Future Forward Party building. Dr. Jetsada warned that if the Election Commission confirms the party's dominance over an IO business, this could result in severe consequences for the political organization.

Dr. Jetsada explained that modern political strategies have evolved beyond traditional campaigning and policy promotion. Information Operations (IO) now play a crucial role in the digital landscape, used to undermine opponents and manipulate public perception. He emphasized that such practices pose a threat to democratic processes.

He further elaborated that traditional political methods, such as direct conversations and policy presentations, have been overshadowed by online information operations. These operations involve attacking dissenting voices and amplifying favorable narratives, often orchestrated by specific individuals.

Dr. Jetsada mentioned circulating rumors that Spectre C is conducting IO for the People's Party, with key evidence suggesting its location inside the Future Forward Party building, which serves as the People's Party's headquarters. However, he clarified that he is not making any direct accusations.

Discussing legal aspects, Dr. Jetsada referred to the Political Parties Act, highlighting potential violations of Sections 20 and 92. Section 20 prohibits political parties from engaging in profit-seeking businesses to be distributed among members. Section 92 imposes severe penalties, including party dissolution, for violations of prohibited activities under Section 20.

Dr. Jetsada urged the Election Commission to investigate the matter urgently. He stressed that political parties must not operate in a non-transparent manner and become hubs for IO businesses. The potential repercussions could be significant if parties deviate from their ideological ideals to engage in such activities.

He called for a thorough investigation into claims that Spectre C is operated by the People's Party. Dr. Jetsada stressed the importance of determining the truth of these claims, as any confirmed violations of the Organic Act on Political Parties could lead to severe consequences, including party dissolution.
