Dr. Joe Chaiwat Emerges as Leading Candidate for Bangkok Governor

Bangkok: Dr. Joe Chaiwat, a prominent figure in the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has emerged as the leading candidate for the upcoming Bangkok gubernatorial elections. The People's Party is on the verge of concluding its candidate selection process and is set to announce its official choice on May 5th at Museum Siam. According to Thai News Agency, the People's Party has been in the final stages of selecting its candidate for Bangkok governor. Dr. Joe - Chaiwat Sathavorawichit is currently considered the frontrunner for the nomination. Several other potential candidates were considered, including Ms. Piangphan Boonklam and Mr. Rawis Hanutsa, but their candidacies have not been finalized. Additionally, Mr. Viroj Lakkhanaadisorn was approached last week but declined the offer to run. Among those yet to make a decision are Mr. Woraphop Wiriyaroj and Mr. Chaiwat Sathavorawichit, known as "Dr. Joe," who is a former MP and has held a significant role within the party. Recent discussions among the People's Part y leadership suggest that Dr. Joe is seen as a highly suitable candidate, with a probability exceeding 50% that he will be nominated for the position of Bangkok Governor.
