Bangkok: The Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) has confirmed that all legal procedures were followed by the police handling the 'Female Doctor' cheating case related to the Law Faculty exam. This follows a complaint by the 'Female Doctor' who claims she was coerced into confessing and implicating a high-ranking police officer. The commander noted that failing to provide further testimony could impact her bail status.
According to Thai News Agency, the female doctor is a suspect in a cheating incident during the Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Law exam, allegedly helping a high-ranking police officer to pass. She was arrested on April 23, and during questioning on April 30, she instructed her lawyer to lodge a complaint at Thung Song Hong Police Station against the Technology Crime Suppression Division 1 investigators. She alleges she was forced to confess and implicate a senior officer. Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpaen, commander of the Cyber Police (CTP), affirmed that the accused has the right to pursue legal action if they believe investigators acted improperly, though he maintained that all procedures were legally correct. The accused was allowed legal representation throughout the investigation.
Reports indicate that during the interrogation, the investigator at Thung Song Hong Police Station contacted the investigator responsible for the case to prepare clarifications, as the accused had authorized her lawyer to file a criminal complaint against the Technology Crime Suppression Division 1, alleging unauthorized investigation and coercion. During a phone conversation, the suspect and her lawyer were present when the TCSD investigator questioned the suspect's rationale for filing a complaint prior to giving her statement. The suspect expressed belief that the TCSD investigator lacked authority and had coerced her confession. The investigator clarified that all actions were within his authority, and no coercion or threats were employed. The suspect's lawyer and a trusted individual were present during the process, and the lawyer who filed the complaint was not involved in the arrest.
After the explanation, the group proceeded to Thung Song Hong Police Station to withdraw the complaint. However, upon arrival, a man approached the suspect, attempting to hand her a phone. The person on the line was reportedly a well-known figure. The suspect declined the call and left with the man, leaving her lawyer at the station. Subsequent attempts by the lawyer and investigators to contact the doctor were unsuccessful.
The TCSD 1 investigators have issued a summons for the female doctor to provide additional testimony, as the investigation remains incomplete. This development is expected to occur tomorrow.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong expressed personal concern for the female doctor, noting her departure without her lawyer and the subsequent lack of contact. He acknowledged this could affect her bail status but emphasized the suspect's right to legal recourse if dissatisfied with the investigation. He reiterated the investigators' entitlement to provide explanations.
