Economic Cabinet Approves ‘Quick Big Win’ Measure and Compensation for Southern Flood Victims

Bangkok: The Economic Cabinet has approved the "Quick Big Win" measure to promote savings and enhance financial security, along with a compensation plan of 2 million baht for each person who died in the southern floods, covering nine provinces.

According to Thai News Agency, the Economic Cabinet, during meeting no. 7/2025, was led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithanpraphas. The meeting was conducted in accordance with the directive of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, focusing on rehabilitation efforts in the southern region. Additionally, the Cabinet is preparing to propose increasing compensation for flood victims to 2 million baht per person, covering nine southern provinces.

The meeting also acknowledged the success of the Quick Big Win policy, which has resulted in increased economic confidence across all sectors, including regional markets, consumers, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Furthermore, the Economic Cabinet has approved, in principle, a new savings promotion measure known as the TISA. This measure allows citizens to choose savings and investments based on a variety of risk factors and can be used for tax deductions. This new system aims to replace the existing system, reducing redundancy with the RMF/LTF, and enhancing individuals' long-term financial security.
