EGAT and Partners Launch Caravan to Restore Homes After Floods

Bangkok:The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has partnered with the Thai Engineers Volunteer Foundation and other organizations to launch a caravan aimed at restoring homes affected by floods.

According to Thai News Agency, over 100 EGAT specialists have been deployed to the Khlong Chan housing estate in Bang Kapi District, Bangkok, to inspect and restore electrical systems. EGAT has also contributed 300,000 baht to support the foundation's efforts in aiding residents to resume their lives safely.

Mr. Chaiyos Tangvorakulchai, EGAT's Assistant Governor for Sustainability Management, stated that the operation integrates various partners to repair not only electrical systems but also water systems and building structures. Key areas like the building's juristic person office are being prioritized as central hubs for community restoration.

The EGAT team will conduct thorough inspections and repairs of electrical panels, breakers, and other equipment, ensuring safety before the area is handed back to residents. The public is urged to refrain from using submerged electrical appliances until they are inspected by professionals to prevent potential hazards.

In addition to technical support, EGAT has distributed 500 relief packages, along with 1,200 sets of ready-to-eat meals and drinking water to the affected residents. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to assist flood victims across various provinces, aiming to alleviate hardships and promote recovery.
