Hong Kong:Dr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, participated in the 33rd APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting (APEC FMM), where he emphasized the importance of the "STI" strategy for overcoming global challenges.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Mr. Lan Fo'an, Minister of Finance of the People's Republic of China, and held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Dr. Ekniti highlighted the "STI" strategy, which stands for Sense, Integrity, and Technology, urging the 21 APEC economies to adopt this approach to address issues such as economic volatility, artificial intelligence, climate change, and energy.
The strategy proposed by Dr. Ekniti includes three main pillars Stabilize Today, which focuses on short-term economic stability, fiscal discipline, and providing targeted assistance to people; Accelerate Transition Now, which involves structural economic transitions and moving towards clean energy and a green economy; and Invest for Tomorrow, which emphasizes investment-led growth in digital and water infrastructure, as well as in targeted industries and future technologies.
