Bangkok: The Chairman of the Election Commission, Narong Klanwarin, officially launched the election campaign for the upcoming Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) elections, scheduled for Sunday, January 11th. He stressed the importance of each vote, highlighting it as a cornerstone for shaping the future of communities, villages, and the nation.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Narong presided over the opening ceremony, which aimed to promote public participation in the local elections. The event was attended by Election Commission members Mr. Lertviroj Kowattana and Mr. Anan Suwannarat, as well as executives and staff from the Election Commission office. The campaign is designed to empower citizens to influence the development of their communities in key areas such as quality of life, economy, education, public health, and the environment.
Mr. Narong reiterated the significance of every vote, describing it as a crucial element in building a collective future. He acknowledged the efforts of the Sub-district Democracy Promotion Centers and citizens across the nation in ensuring a fair and lawful election process. He urged eligible voters to participate in electing members of the Sub-district Administrative Organization Council and the Sub-district Administrative Organization Mayor, emphasizing the importance of their involvement on election day, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The campaign event also featured a panel discussion titled "The Importance of Sub-district Administrative Organization Elections." The panel included Mr. Saeng Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, and opinion leaders, who discussed the role and impact of local elections on public and societal development.
